Reality TV has its hook into large viewing audiences, which creates huge ratings for television networks based on the number of people who watch. Let’s face it, many of us become hooked on reality tv and it’s hard not to follow the weekly episodes it brings.

The thrill of the unknown, a new romance unfolding before our very eyes, the arguments that may lead to physical altercations and the certainty of betrayal, are all things that appeal to people. There is no doubt that if it were up to us, we would be watching this drama every day just to see how things play out.

Believe it or not, Christians have always had a front row seat to reality in the greatest book ever written: the Living Word of God.

Unknown Thrill

”Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” ~ Jeremiah 33:3

“Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her.”~ Hosea 2:14

“Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.”~ 2 Timothy 2:23

Physical Altercation

A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel. Proverbs 15:18

“When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders.”~ Matthew 27:3

It seems that every time we read the bible, we learn something new about God and about the realities others used to live and the ones we still live today.

Take time to pray and ask God to help you through your current reality. The spoken and Living Word of God is a wonderful tool that can help you grow your relationship with Him and help you through this already very real life.

Let’s be the audience that raises the ratings for God by modeling a positive reality and/or outcome for others.

Lord, we ask that you help us through our realities and that you allow us to see it through your lens so that we can better understand your purpose for the things we go through. Allow us to Live your Word in a way that others can see why it’s so worth having you guide our lives. In Your Son’s name, Amen!
